Day 1

Beginnings of Early Mankind (Creation to ca. 2100 BC)
Genesis 1:1 - Genesis 11:32
Dates begin at Creation - Genesis 5:3 - "When Adam had lived 130 years" = 130 A.C.
Really interesting to see that Adam may have been alive when Noah's father was born.
Methuselah (longest recorded life in the Bible) may have died in the flood or right before it.
Flood happened around 1656 A.C. which roughly equals 3000-2500 B.C.
Noah dies around 2006 A.C.
Noah's sons - Shem, Ham, Japeth father the nations that come after the flood
Ham = Amorites
Japeth = Japethites
Shem = Semites - 8 generations to Abram

The Plan

Here we go! There are 95 days left in 2010 and I'm trying to finish a 90 day reading plan I started a few months ago! I'm using "The Daily Bible" with commentary by F. LaGard Smith as my guide. It's arranged in 365 daily readings designed to take you through the Bible in a year. I'm modifying this plan by reading 4-5 daily readings each day. I plan on blogging through this experience with a least 1 sentence each day, maybe more - we'll see!
